Texas Day 2

Today was a little more relaxing.... we had a fiesta at the house and friends came over to celebrate!! In the late afternoon we had the opportunity to lay outside in the sun and catch some rays. It was a fun day spending time with the family. The first group of people leave tomorrow, but it has been fun creating a lot of memories. Emma and Hannah are so sweet. I did rest today and finished reading the first book of Twilight. The day ended with food and Wii. It was a fun day full of wonderful memories.

Texas Day 1

Our trip actually started yesterday at 3PM when we left for the airport. That morning I had my last final and moved back home. A few short hours later we were leaving for Texas to see my Uncle Kenny Graduate from college. Before we could any further I needed my Caribou....I hadn't had my cup of coffee yet!!
Now we had to kill sometime till our planes left. The funny part about this trip is that my brother, Erik, my mom and I were all going to the same place but they were on a different plane AND airline than I was. The reason for this is because originally I was the only that was going to go, but then they decided to go and find the beset flight. So we decided to go shopping and look around and take some pictures.
We boarded our planes that left a half hour apart. I ended up being bumped up a row which gave me extra leg room, not that I REALLY need that. ;) But it was still nice. I read almost the entire way, the book Twilight..... I am almost done!!
Once I landed I found out that my mom, brother and Aunt Jenny were already picked up. So Aunt Katie came to get me and we then waited till 10:45 PM till her sister Amy and boyfriend Kevin arrived. After dropping them off at the hotel we finally headed home to get a few hours of sleep before the big day.

6 AM came to soon. I got up and got ready for my Uncles big day. 7 AM - it was time to get my cousins Emma (5 yr.) and Hannah (1 yr.) ready to leave. We left the house around 7:45 and meet the rest of the family at Starbucks at 8. Then off we went to the ceremony. It was a 45 min. drive and we hit NO traffic. It was a blessing.

I was able to spend the morning with Hannah while everyone else was in the ceremony. We had fun exploring the campus and ended the time together with a nap. She fell asleep as I rocked her outside soaking in the warm air and periodically some sun rays. We took some pictures and then headed home for a late lunch.

Middle row: Mom, Hannah, Katie, Nana
Front Row: Erik. Emma, Rebekah, Aunt Jenny

Then we headed home, but the adventure only began....
There was a HUGE storm that came through which made it almost impossible to keep the parade of cars together. Actually one car went the wrong way but it all worked out. To keep the little ones occupied we watched Willy Wonka and took pictures. An hour and a half later we were home and had a quick lunch and rested.

For dinner 20 of us went to Babes.... a great southern restaurant. Afterwards everyone came back to the house to hang out. Tomorrow is another party day. It is so fun to be able to spend time with my family.
Currently I am on childcare duty as my Aunt and Uncle went to the doctor cause Uncle Kenny's thumb is infected. Hopefully he will get the help he needs and feel better in the morning.
It was another day full of memories with my family.

Spring Cleaning/Moving Home

It is that time of year spring cleaning and moving home. With some just around the corner, next week, I thought it would be good to clean out my room at home and buy a few new things to clean up my room. Also, this summer I am taking 5 credits of classes and having a place to retreat to is much needed, since my some will consist of school and work with a few vacations here and there.

So tonight was the night to begin....

I have been researching and outlining my room, deciding what would be the best options for me. Tonight my mom and I headed to Ikea. Well, one thing turn into another.... like I always have said, Ikea people are smart by having us all walk through the display and then the store to get to checkout. I definitely got more than was intended for tonight's trip. But I was planning on eventually getting everything I bought tonight anyways. Well, after an hour and half later we left the store.

Then....

Set up began, which also means totally cleaning the room. You can't just do one part of the project and save the rest for later, at least I can't :)

So now the room is finished besides the paint job and minor accessories here and there. But I think this is going to be a relaxing room for me to work on home or relax after a long day at work. I am going to enjoy this room so much.

Before:

(Don't look at the unmade bed.... I was cleaning.)

After....

Well, there will be a new update on the room as more happens. Until then happy spring ... even though for us there is snow!!! (that's another post)

Outdoor Baseball Begins...

Last night I experienced my first Twins game in the Target Field!! Outdoor baseball is so different compared to baseball in the dome. Throughout the entire game I sat in aww of the field. It was HUGE!!! Of course there was an adventure throughout the night because I can't have plans without some unexpected adventure. Well last nights was, I went the wrong way to get to the field. Josh and I ended up making a complete circle and then realizing that I took 94 east instead of 94 west. Once we were headed in the right direction we made it!! Once we arrived we took are seats in row 11 behind home-plate! Amazing seats!! We got to enjoy the full experience of outdoor baseball because on and off throughout the night it rained!! There were a few highlights to the night.

1. There were fireworks at the end of the game.
2. We won!!
3. We made it onto the big screen.

The video camera guy came over to us and sat 2 rows down from us. Instantly we were all excited and hoping that we would make it on the screen. Well he filmed the kids in front of us. But eventually after filming to other groups, it was our turn. We were on the screen for a while, shouting as loud as we could.

It was an unforgettable night and it was a great experience at the new target field!

Go twins!!
